Prostredníctvom týchto spomienok Mona postupne upada, keď cestuje z miesta na miesto, prijíma nezvyčajné práce a zostáva s kýmkoľvek, kto jej ponúkne miesto na spanie. Mona je nezlomná, túži po slobode viac než pohodlí, ale je to táto túžba po slobode, ktorá nakoniec povedie k jej skaze.
