Sallie Hard

Sallie Hard is a British key second assistant director. She began in the industry in the early 1990s, working as a production office runner and set runner on projects such as Murder Most Horrid (1991) and Sam Saturday (1992). Her early work included roles as a third assistant director on TV series and mini-series such as Soldier Soldier (1991–1997), Kavanagh QC (1995), and Cold Lazarus (1996). Hard transitioned into feature films in the mid-1990s, serving as a second assistant director and third assistant director on projects including Judge Dredd (1995), Hamlet (1996), and Event Horizon (1997). In the 2000s, she contributed to major franchises, including Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005), X2: X-Men United (2003), and Alexander (2004), frequently handling second unit work or overseeing reshoots in the UK. Her career advanced further with key second assistant director roles on high-profile productions such as The Huntsman: Winter’s War (2016), Black Widow (2021), Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022), and The Marvels (2023). She has worked extensively within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, managing additional photography, splinter units, and coordinating second unit operations across multiple locations. Television credits include her work as a second assistant director on Loki Season 2 (2023) and first assistant director on Secret Invasion (2023). She continues to work with Marvel Studios as she is the key second assistant director of Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026) Hard is a member of the Directors Guild of America. She married David Otzen in 2014.
